  • ELA (English Language Arts) - Benchmark Advance is our adopted curriculum. We will also be using Fuel Ed and Step Up to Writing.  We will be using these programs along with other sources, to improve student's reading and writing abilities.
  • MATHEMATICS -“Go Math!” published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is our adopted math curriculum. Various books, workbooks, games, and other resources (including IXL and Reflex Math) are used to support our Harcourt Mathematics curriculum.
  • SCIENCE - Our school is using STEMscopes this school year which is NGSS aligned science curriculum. Along with this, we will also be using FuelEd. Students will study life science, earth, and physical science, as well as engaging in the Next Generation Science Standards.
  • SOCIAL STUDIES - This year, students will learn about the history of California. Topics range from early Native Americans, the missions system, the Gold Rush, and how the current government system operates. The social studies curriculum is published by Scott Foresman.
  • P.E., V.A.P.A, and Technology - All students will participate in P.E. once a week with Mrs. Nichols. We have P.E. on Wednesdays (or Fridays on Distance Learning Wednesdays).  In addition to weekly music classes with Mrs. Reimer. 4th-grade students may participate in an optional pull-out band program with our new music teacher, Mrs. Olson. Students will also practice keyboarding skills, general technology concepts, and continued math and language skills practice.

Student Expectations
Top of Page

  • ALL 3-5th grade students are expected to wear a mask each day to school and wear it appropriately throughout the day unless a doctor's note is given to the office.

  • Water fountains are turned off so, each student should bring a filled water bottle each day.

  • Student Chromebooks MUST go to and from school EVERY DAY. Chromebooks should be powered up each night for the next day.
  • Students are responsible for writing down their homework assignments, project due dates, and upcoming commitments in their planner.  This planner stays in the binder along with any/all necessary work.
  • Large projects will be completed at home. There will be some research time given in class. These assignments will always begin with an outline and overview of expectations.
  • Math assignments are always due the following school day.  I also recommend using IXL to help prepare for tests and additional practice.
