Welcome to first grade! 

 

Notes on common questions:

 

Homework:

Homework is sent home weekly on Fridays in the Friday FISH folder and returned the following Friday. Students will also have a letter home to parents. Please return letter on Monday with FISH folder which includes a response to your child on the back. Periodically, there will be projects sent home with extended due dates. 

 

Folders:

Every Monday, please return the FISH folder for the following Friday empty and the letter folder with the letter and a response on the back. 

 

Library:

Wednesdays are library days, please return all library books by Tuesday. Our librarian loves to have them in to make sure all can check out when we come by to see her. 

 

PE:

We will have PE regularly throughout the week and have a scheduled time for the Ruppel on Tuesday afternoons. 

 

*Schedules are all fluid and may change due to district or school events or holidays. 

 

***Music, Dance, Computers, and Garden time will all be scheduled soon! 

 

Our room is beautifully located by the garden with a super little play yard. We access our room and leave our room on the back side of the building by the garden. Students need to line up after the bell rings near the window. Students will then have easy access into the room after hanging all personal items on the coat racks. After school students will leave by the same door. I will walk them out to the front tree area in front of the office. 

 

**Please note, students are to place backpacks and personal items by the door in line and then walk to the big playground. The kinder playground is closed for first grade students. When the bell rings all students walk to class in the mornings. Students are not permitted to wander around buildings before, during or after school due to there being no supervision. 

 

Please whenever visiting the school, check into the front office first. This is true for volunteering, lunch drop offs, field trips, or party help. We account for all if there is an emergency and staff like to know who is on campus with a special sticker. 

These special schedules are not all year, and times may change due to school events. 

 

Instructional Aide: Monday / Friday 9-10:30AM and Tues. 10:30-12PM ( Fridays 10:30-12PM as available)

 

Computers: TBD 

 

Library:Wednesdays 12:05PM books due back by Tuesday

 

Music: TBD 

 

PE:  ( Ruppel usage ) Tuesdays 2:15PM and throughout the week informally (including health education and the dance program).
